DLeona SONG OF THE WEEK #2 AND A RECAP

Hey lovelies. How you all doing?
Thank you so much for the amazing response I got on my last post. How did they tip go for you if you tried it?
Today is the last day of July, can you believe? This year is fast o, like they always are. Do you remember when the only thing on our (Nigerians) minds was who would win the elections and what would happen after that? Seems like such a long time, yes?
Since today is the last day of July and I haven't done my top song of the week since the first time I did, seemed appropriate to share this song that has been on replay on my playlist. The song is by the Nigerian songstress Chidinma and it is called 'If e no be God'. Although the song is a little old but I wanted to share because it is good music and I know there would be people that have not heard it before (Hi Dobi.. lol)

The video is also dope you guys, remember I talked about my love for all things vintage here and here, so it is no surprise that I love the video. It was directed by Clarence Peters, so we expect good quality, yes? And I like the whole hand gloves thing, why did we stop doing that?

And again, since it is the end of the month, Here is a recap of what we did in the month of July.
I wore a big grey tee and some leggings and called it a casual day. I went back to the 70s in these red pants.
Then I shared some songs  with you that were on replay on my playlist and talked about why I am happy.

I also celebrated my birthday and wore a monochrome outfit. I explained why I might have been that walking piece of neon you saw sometime ago and I shared how to make your shoes more comfortable.

That is it guys. Ah! you have now caught up to where we all are. Welcome! We have been waiting for you :D

I wanna say a big shout out to you for all the support you have given me since I started this blog, thank you so much and God bless you.
I would like to know what songs are on replay in your phone, so I can check it out. And what is your favourite thing about this month.  let me know in the comment below.

Thank you so much for visiting.

HOW TO: MAKE YOUR SHOES COMFORTABLE

Hey guys! Hope you are all doing well?
In my last post I said I was going to share a cool tip with you guys, that I learned on YouTube, on how to make your shoes more comforatble, that is, shrinking your shoe if it is a little bigger than your feet or how to break into a shoes if they are too tight for your feet. Let's get started, Shall we;
The First solution is for new leather shoes or tight/under size shoes. As you know, sometimes new leather shoes can be a little stiff and small, and someone must have told you to walk in them for a while so as to break them. I know I have done that and afterwards my toes would be on fire and other times it won't even work. Stop doing that! I have a solution for you. Dleona to the rescue! lol.

Wear your shoes with a pair of socks and blow dry over the shoes using a blow dryer. Then remove sock try the shoes out, continue to do this until you are satisfied with the result. OR
Put water into a Ziploc bag (you can also use the normal white nylon, If you live in Nigeria or any nylon you like) and put the bag of water inside your shoes and freeze them over night.

Remember your senior secondary Physics lessons on water expanding when it turns to ice? Ah! And you thought you were never going to use that piece of information in real life situations. So when the water turns to ice, as it expands it also expand your shoe. Now smile :D

Picture from here
The second solution are for shoes that are a little too big for your feet. This involves applying water on the edge inside the shoe but be careful not to get it on the sole or spray water around the ankle parts of the shoes on the outside, then using a blow dryer (make sure it is not too hot) around the shoes. You can repeat this a couple of times until you get your desired results.

I hope this helps someone. If you have another way of breaking into a new shoe or shoes generally or shrinking them, Please share in the comment section below.

P.S. Konga is doing something the call 'the under 5k shop', and the shoes section is amazing, I am confused on what to get. And no I am not affiliated with Konga in anyway, this just a friendly notice, because we are all friends and we help each other out, Yes?

NEONS AND STRIPES

Hey lovelies. Hope your day is going well?
Don't you just just love neons? It is so colourful and playful, yet chic and trendy. Neons makes me happy, I have to admit. I have so many neon green outfits in my wardrobe and I also wear them alot too. (yep, I am probably that walking piece of lime green you saw sometime ago)

For this outfit, I think I was going for a playful, cute but edgy chic look, How did I do? So I paired this gorgeous pleated neon green skirt with an off-shoulder stripe top, added this edgy ankle boot  and called it a day.

Looking at it now, I think I should have added a skinny belt. Ohwell...

This top combines my obsession for the off-shoulder trend and one of my favourite prints, stripes, together. So ofcourse I had to get it when I saw it, although admittedly the top isn't off-shoulder on me as I would like it to be but I still love it.

AND...Can we just take a moment to appreciate the SHOES and the legs. This was one of those love at first sight kinda situations. I had to get these beauties even though they were actually not my size ( I could write an epistle on why I deserve a new shoe anytime, don't try me). lol

I wear a good size 40 (size 9), and I can squeeze into a size 39 (size 8) but mostly in sandals. These shoes were a size 39 and they are boots, I don't need to tell you that whenever I wear these babies, I had to do some serious feet pampering and I would not be able to walk for a while. I needed some solutions and being the YouTube administrator that I am, I went on YouTube to search for it. I learned a cool tip on how to stretch your shoes if you had to buy a shoe a size smaller than your actual size and how to shrink your shoes when you go a size up (don't use tissue yet), I would share next time. This was the trick I wanted to use for that Jumia's clearance shoe sales if I see a shoe that isn't quite my size, but it turns out, the shoes I saw for the clearance were all under size 8 :(

So that is it guys. What do you think, would you wear neon and stripes together? What do you think about the off-shoulder trend? Where do you think you can wear this to? let me know in the comment section.

MY BIRTHDAY

Hey lovelies. Hope you are all doing well? If you didn't know, yesterday was my birthday (24th July) and I took these pictures to celebrate it. I posted some pictures on Instagram and Facebook to anticipate the post, but I wouldn't put this up yesterday (sorry about that)

But before we get into all that, I wanna say a big thank you to everyone that celebrated me yesterday and those that went out of their way to make yesterday truly special. YOU ARE AMAZING and I wish you all you wish me and I pray God bless you. Thank you so much.

Back to the pictures, there was nothing about this picture that was planned. I originally planned to shoot with another friend, I wanted it to be  two outfits, flower crowns, flower garden etc... but I ended with the best team, and I got to be a princess ( yes Hun, I brought in a tiara) and I loved it.

I am so grateful to Josh and Victor for making this shoot possible and shooting on such short notice and with very little light but making it amazing nevertheless. Although they were asking/making me do some weird model-like poses, guys I am not a model and yes I can not pose. Candid poses for me are usually what I go with but I am learning to pose sha. lol.

see what I was talking about... lol
